Tržič–Podljubelj–Ljubelj–Ljubelj Pass–back the same way
ROUTE DESCRIPTION
The starting point for cycling tours is in the city centre, opposite the Tržič bus station. Parking is possible in public parking areas (parking lots at the Municipality of Tržič, on Predilniška Road at the entrance to the city-BPT, at the Tržič Olympians Hall, along the street Za Mošenikom, among others).
In Tržič, head north through the town centre in the direction of Podljubelj. In Podljubelj ride through the village and continue to Lajb, straight past an abandoned larger restaurant and onto a gravel road that runs alongside the main road towards Ljubelj. Where the road joins the main road, continue along it to the parking lot in front of Ljubelj Tunnel. Caution: the main road is very busy, and extreme care is required while cycling. In front of the tunnel, a gravel road branches off to the right towards Ljubelj Pass. Ahead of you is 300 metres of ascent, and the road is very steep in some places.
At the hut on Ljubelj Pass, you can treat yourself to a well-deserved meal and rest and enjoy the view, then descend back along the same road. From Ljubelj descend partly along the main road, partly along side trails as far as Lajb, and from there along the local road back to Tržič.
good to know
The main road is quite busy, so use extreme caution while cycling.
