ROUTE DESCRIPTION
The starting point for cycling tours is in the city centre, opposite the Tržič bus station. Parking is possible in public parking areas (parking lots at the Municipality of Tržič, on Predilniška Road at the entrance to the city-BPT, at the Tržič Olympians Hall, along the street Za Mošenikom, among others).
In Tržič, head north through the town centre in the direction of Podljubelj. At the intersection at the top of the hill, where the main road begins to descend towards Ravne, keep right towards Podljubelj. Ride past the Mošenik power station and across the overpass above the main road towards Ljubelj. Immediately after the overpass below Kramarjeva Guba, turn left onto a forest road and follow it. At the first crossroads, where there is a turnoff for a farm, go slightly to the right, at the second crossroads more sharply right, and at the third crossroads next to the hunters’ lookout straight ahead (the smaller road turns left). At the end of the road you can enjoy the view towards Košuta, then go back 250 m and before a sharp right-hand curve turn right uphill along a steep logging trail (the first 50 m will probably be done on foot). The trail levels out; follow the second trail that turns off to the right and goes uphill. Continue along the forest road above Bistriška pasture, then descend slightly to the gravel road, where you turn right. This is followed by a steep ascent past Breška pasture. Where the trail branches off sharply from the road to the right towards Lešanska pasture and Dobrča, turn slightly left. This is followed by a 300 m gentle descent to a beautiful lookout point with a bench (Polde's Bench, named after the late actor Polde Bibič). The view extends across Dobrave all the way to Jelovica, towards the Škofja Loka Hills and the Julian Alps.
Follow the same road back to Bistriška pasture, where you can find refreshment at the mountain dairy. Just below the pasture, turn left onto a forest road and after 100 m turn right onto a hiking trail that leads towards Bistrica pri Tržiču. At the crossroads, follow the markers that take you along a forest trail and logging trail across Planince, past the ruins of Altgutenberg Castle. When you reach the first houses in Bistrica pri Tržiču and the roadside shrine and paved road, turn right towards the main road connecting Tržič and Begunje na Gorenjskem. Turn right and after 200 metres, opposite the drinking fountain, turn left onto a gravel road, which soon turns into a trail. Follow the trail to the settlement of Ročevnica, then take the road through Bistrica pri Tržiču back to the starting point in Tržič.

Instead of descending via Planince you can choose to take an easier variant and take the forest road from Bistrica pasture to Brezje pri Tržiču and from there towards Bistrica pri Tržiču.
